2006 Willard Wiper Tournament
Rules

The 2006 Wiper Tournament will have
2 mandatory winning categories and one optional category.
First, the top 3 teams with the
longest combined length from 2 Wipers will place.
Second, the single angler with the
longest Walleye will also place.
Third, we will also have a Big Fish
(Wiper) side pot. The angler who registers for the side pot and
has the single biggest Wiper will win 100% of the Big Fish side
pot money for all anglers who opted to participate.
Objective
Who are the best wiper fishing team
in Utah? We’ll find out! This is an opportunity to get folks
together for a friendly competition to fish for one of our
favorite species and enjoy a great fish fry/dinner/pot luck.
The objective is simple. The team who catches the two longest wipers (1 per
angler) in combined total length between the opening and closing
times of the tournament win bragging rights as best Willard Wiper
fisher folks and a pot comprised of $12 per angler of the entrance
fees ($13 per anglers entrance fees will go towards, state park
use and pavilion use). Total Mandatory Entry Fee $25.
Times and Place
The tournament will be held
Saturday, May 20th. Check in for teams will start at 6:00 am at
the North Marina. Fishing will start at 7:00 am. Teams must stop
fishing and be back into the North Marina by no later than 2:00
pm. Late arrival will be disqualified. Measurements of fish will
be at 2:30 pm sharp.
Tournament Rules
1. Teams
-
45 teams will compete in this
friendly competition.
-
The entrance fee will be $50
for each 2 person team ($25 per angler).

$12 per angler of Monies
taken for entry donations will be put into the “pot” to be
presented to the winners of this event. The prize money will be
paid for 1st, 2nd
and 3rd place only.

Teams will consist of two
fisherpersons. When registering for the tournament, you must
declare both team members.

Any person registering for the
tournament must be a BigFishTackle.Com registered member as of
May 10th, 2006. No one who has a registration date later than
May 10th, 2006 will be considered eligible.

A team member can be replaced on a
team in the event of an emergency. The replacement team member
must meet the registration requirements. All replacements must
be approved 48 hours before the start of the tourney. This
allows time to verify registration requirements of prospective
replacement team member.
2. General Rules
-
All Utah Fishing regulations will
be adhered to during this competition.

All Utah boating regulations and
safety rules will be followed at all times.

All anglers must posses a valid
Utah Fishing Lic.

For the Wiper part of this
tournament only 6 wipers can be kept per angler and only 1
measured.

For the walleye part of this
tournament only 2 walleye over 20" per boat can be kept and only
6 per angler 20" and less and only 1 fish per angler will be
weighed.

All released fish should be
released a minimum of 1/4 mile in open water.

This is a cooperative event
between all participants with no sole sponsor. Administrators
and any persons helping out with this event are not responsible
for any and all liabilities that may occur during this get
together. All entrants and their associates will provide their
own liability insurance and are responsible for any liabilities
they incur before, during and after this event. Bottom line, as
with all things in life, you play at your own risk and are
responsible for your actions. By entering this tournament, you
agree to these terms.

Fishing can be done by any legal
means. You may fish from shore, from tube, pontoon, kayak, or
boat. All teams fishing from boats must fish from the same boat.
Entrants that elect to fish from float tubes, pontoons, and
kayaks, which are consider individual flotation devices, must
fish in the same proximity of their teammate. The rule of thumb
is that you must be within the range of a human voice. Yes, loud
yelling counts.

Teams
can have others in their boat if it is so desired. If you wish
to bring your family, significant other, or friends that is fine
but only the tournament team members can fish and handle any and
all fishing equipment. No help of any kind can be extended by
any non-participating observer(s) except to operate the boat. No
more than 4 rods may be fished from a boat that is entered in
the competition even though there are more legal fishing license
holders in the boat.

No participant of the tournament
may fish for any species on May 20th, 2006 before the 7:00 am
start time.

Fish do not have to be kept alive
for measurements but must be preserved in an acceptable manner
as to preserve the fish in a manner acceptable for human
consumption. An ice chest filled with ice is suggested for
storage of catch if you plan to not release fish. All released
fish must be released in accordance with Utah proclamation
standards. Each fisherperson deciding to release fish after the
measurements are responsible to do it within these state rules.

A panel of 4 judges,
non-participating persons designated by the administrator of
this event, will measure all entries and decide the outcome. The
judges’ decision is final and cannot be contested.

We reserve the right to add,
delete, or modify any rules at any time before the start of the
tournament. All changes will be done in good conscience and in
the name of fair play for all.

All participants agree to these
rules and will follow them throughout the tournament. Failure to
follow these simple contest rules and instructions will result
in automatic disqualification of the team.
3. Judging (All teams check
in with judges by 2:00 pm. Judges will document team check in
time. Anyone checking in after 2:00 pm will be disqualified.)

Wipers- The team with combined
longest length of wipers (2 per team) will be the winner (1st, 2nd,
and 3rd). In the event of a tie the heaviest pair of fish will
win.

Walleye- The individual with
longest length of walleye will be the winner. In the event of a
tie the heaviest fish will win.

Big Fish- The individual with
longest length of Wiper will be the winner. In the event of a
tie the heaviest fish will win.
